Leak Tester is based on ASTM D3078 bubble emission method and detects the gross leaks of flexible packaging with headspace gas. Leak tester is working by creating positive pressure inside pouch after vacuum is drawn away the pouch if force to plug small leaks.

Principle

The specimen is submerged in the water within the vacuum chamber, and then the vacuum chamber is evacuated to form a pressure difference between the inside and outside of specimen. The seal performance can be obtained by observing whether there are steady progression of bubbles from the specimen and how the specimen expands and restores to its original shape after vacuum release.

LT-03 Leak Tester is used for the airproof checking of packages, containers, bags, pipes that are used in food, beverage, pharmaceutical, daily chemical, cosmetic and electronic industries, etc.  It complies with ASTM D3078  and GB/T 15171 standards and could be modified to ASTM F 2054 Bubble Test.

Working Principle

A test sample is placed into vacuum chamber with water and the air above water level is evacuated by a venturi vacuum ejector. Thus a pressure difference is made between chamber and sample inside. If there is leak, the bubble will escape from high pressure sample and be observed in water.
